Amazing organization!

I just love Compassion International! I sponsored a child last year and it has been such a wonderful experience. Getting letters back and seeing the progress is incredible. I also donated to the Clean Water Fund in their gift catalog for a friend's birthday. The whole process was so simple. I'm definitely going to continue my sponsorship and tell everyone I know about them!

Smooth sponsorship experience

I decided to sponsor a child through Compassion International last month. The website made it pretty easy to choose a child and set up my monthly payments. I received my sponsorship kit, including a photo and first letter from my sponsored child, in about a week, which was faster than I expected. The support team was helpful when I called with a question about writing letters; they explained the process clearly. I've already sent my first letter online. The entire process felt very transparent and well-organized, which is important for me with charities. I feel good about where my money is going.

Positive, but some small issues

I chose to sponsor a child a few months ago after looking into several organizations. The sign-up was easy enough, and I received the sponsorship kit with all the info quickly. I've sent a few letters to my sponsored child, and it's a really rewarding experience. My one minor critique is that sometimes the website can be a little slow to load, especially on mobile. Also, I wished there were more immediate updates on the specific projects my donations were going to beyond the general child sponsorship. Overall, though, I'm very satisfied with my decision to support their work; the impact is clear.

Good value for impact

I was looking for a way to give back and found Compassion International. I sponsored a child for the monthly amount, and it felt like a good use of my money for the impact it creates. The tax-deductible aspect is a plus, which helped with the overall value. I also sent a one-time donation to the Christmas Gift Fund. Everything was straightforward, and I felt my contributions were well managed. Worth it.

I'm trying to decide between Compassion and World Vision. Anyone have experience with both or know how they compare?

T Tom Y. 3 months ago
I've only done Compassion but I think they're pretty similar in their approach. Maybe check out their websites for specific program details to see which aligns better for you.

They're both good organizations! I'd say Compassion is more explicitly Christian if that matters to you. World Vision also does a lot of community-wide development while Compassion focuses more directly on the individual child's holistic development, although they do community stuff too, just maybe a different emphasis.

Hey, thinking about sponsoring a kid through Compassion. Do you guys know if they're legit or just another one of those organizations where all the money goes to admin?

N Noor Lindqvist 2 months ago
Nah, they're super legit. Heard they have really good ratings on Charity Navigator, like top-tier stuff.

Yeah, I sponsor through them and I've been really impressed. They're pretty transparent about where the money goes, a really high percentage goes directly to the kids. You can find that info on their site.
